NO MORE TIME TO SHINE
- Large pores and an overly shiny face are both signs of oily skin.
I myself tend to sway towards the oily team, my T-zone a warzone of sebum.
Sebum is produced by the sebaceous glands, these glands are all over our bodies except from our palms and soles…hence the wrinklyness after a long, hot, Lush infested bath.
The sebaceous glands are most active in our face and scalp.
Oily skin can be infuriating sometimes, people with this skin type are more prone to blemishes and blackheads making it a daily battle to get everything under control…
No matter how many fixing powders and primers you might use!
Some good news for team oily is that we are less likely to have visable wrinkles and fine lines as they are slower to show.
In this post I wanted to share with you two skincare products that I have been using recently that work with me and my oily skin.
Helping me look a little less waxy one day at a time.
Mattifying products work best for oily skin
A mattifying product simply soaks up the excess sebum and absorbs the oils giving a more matte appearance as opposed to looking like a melting candle!
Onto the products…
- As a younger teenager I was always very impressed with Neutrogena as a skincare brand, the 2in1 wash and mask was a firm favourite in my daily routine.
As I grew older and understood my skin type much clearer I decided to cater my skincare to suit me better.
I have been using this product for a while now and was thrilled to see that it featured in my
The product is intended to visibly mattify the skin and helps:
Tighten Pores: Exfoliating micro beads and salicylic acid cleanse deep into the pores.
Visibly reduces shine: The formula is clinically proven to remove 77% of excess sebum to provide a long lasting matte effect without over drying the skin.
After using the wash
- My skin is much more radiant, and smooth, my skin is working with me to allow me to apply my makeup beautifully.
The Bodyshop 'Seaweed Mattifying Daycream'
This product moisturisers dry areas and controls excess sebum and shine.
- This product is a firm favourite of mine. Since discovering it last year I have cast aside any primers and other moisturisers aside and used this solely.
I use this after cleansing my face on an evening, if I am having a makeup free day or as a primer underneath my oil free foundation.
I love how nourished my face feels after using it, it doesn't give that greasy feeling that most facial moisturisers give.
It is a light, gel like formula.
Overall, both of these products work wonderfully in controling oil
I throughoughly recommend them if you have combination/oily skin.
Have you ever tried them before?
What are your favourite matifying products?
