The Bodyshop
Smokey Moonstone
Palette
Palette
- Eyeshadow was the first makeup purchase that I ever made, I believe that it was sometime back when I was around 12 years old and makeup was shiny and new to me.
My first eyeshadow palette consisted of three super bright turquoise shades and a dark, shimmery green.
I suppose the 'Dangerous Mermaid' look was all the rage back in year 7?
Okay…
Maybe not.
Having greyish greenish blueish (some colour I can't quite pin point) eyes, the green family of shades suit me best if I am looking for that dare I say it 'eye popping' colour however, these days I much prefer to wear espresso browns and golds on my peepers.
If you read THIS POST from last month which saw me head over to 'The Bodyshop' for a make over as part of their 'Give Joy' Christmas experience, you will have already been introduced to
I have been using these shades on my eyelids everyday for a good month now.
I love that the colours are so versatile and can be used to create both day looks and night looks.
Having cool toned eyes, I love the cool undertones of these earthy shades.

The perfect balance
This palette was one of 2012's best sellers and the four shadows are housed in a very tactile and durable glossy, black caseing.
As I am such a fan of The Smokey Moonstone Palette I am going to share with you today
my 'everyday eye' using these beautiful colours.
As the shades do not have specific names I am just going to refer to them in a clockwise order as shades 1,2,3 and 4 for ease.
I start by priming my eye lids with the Urban Decay 'Primer Potion' to stop these particularly powdery shadows from slipping and creasing.
I then sweep shade number 2 over my entire lid.
This is followed by shade number three swept under my lower lash line and on the outer corner of my eye blended up towards my socketbone.
I then take shade 4 through my socketbone and along my upper lash line to create the smokey look.
I find that this look works best with plenty of drama from eyeliner and mascara.
Finally I use shade one in the inner corner of my eye to lighten up this ares, as I have fairly small eyes this brings my eye shape out a little bit…if I am feeling in the mood for a brow highlight I will also take this shade below my brows.
And that is my final Smokey Moonstone look!
What do you think?
I am praying that I am on my way down to London again this evening for some more capital madness but I shall be uploading my weekly video as usual on Sunday, so watch out for that!

This palette is so pretty. I eye it up everytime I go into The Body Shop. I think because I have other shadow palettes that dont get enough attention in my stash that I avoid adding another one!
